The processing of data which reaches the CSCF is carried out in stages in
which the sequence is respected whatever the mode of transmission adopted (post
or e-mail):
Sending an acknowledgement of receipt to the sender. In case of a
non-response please contact the CSCF, a problem of data transmission could have
occurred!
Encoding and capture
(data provided on paper) or uploading (data provided by digitally) of information
received.
Consistency control
of the captured or uploaded data; this control, automated, essentially aims at
detecting the mistakes in the coordinates or encoding transcription of the
numerous fields identifying the species or the source of information.
Scientific validity control
of information by interposed specialists; in case of doubt (for example species
difficult to identify or observed out of its normal habitat) a confirmation of
the concerned information is requested from the observer; if no confirmation
can be supplied the data is rejected.
By request of the informer, extraction and return of the provided digitalised
observations (Excel or database access file).
