Observations
made by Swiss or foreign voluntary naturalists. The non-stop relentless work of
those impassioned represents a regular source of essential reliable recent
information.
Observations
collected within the framework of projects managed by the CSCF (for example red list projects) or projects with which it is associated
(for example BDM-CH project). This information
collected by the means of standardised methods and sampling protocols represents
an increasing part of the annually collected data.
Information
resulting from regional inventories authorised by the community (cantons, communes) and certain non-governmental organisations (Pro
Natura, WWF) or private foundations (Study and management group of the Grande
Cariçaie; Bolle of Magadino Foundation, Grangettes Foundation) implied in the
conservation of species and their habitats.
Increasingly many are actually the public or
private Swiss institutions that require from their agents that the
information collected during the studies which they finance would have to be
automatically transmitted to the CSCF. On the other hand the CSCF takes care of
the scientific validation of the collected observations and provides all original
information available which concerns them.
Information coming from databases managed by
other institutions, such as KARCH, the CCO and the SSF. Regularly updated,
it is deposited at the CSCF in order to ensure its safeguard, circulation
(controlled) and used to its full potential within the framework of national
syntheses.
Museographic
information gathered during projects
managed by or associated with the CSCF. If a significant part of this
information is acquired by the specialists with whom it collaborates or by its
own (CSCF) forces, the part of which is provided by the managers of the
collections themselves is in constant increase.
Bibliographical
information.
This potential source of information is exploited, with exception, only if
reference collections were used by the authors of the publications concerned. Therefore
it can only be used if the determination of the species mentioned can be
validated by the examination of reference specimens.
